Charles Sansom was born from the union of the late, Charlie and Patsy Sansom on December 18, 1966 in Dallas Texas. In the spring of 1973, his mom got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at Full Gospel Holy Temple Inc. under the leadership of Apostle Lobias Murray. When God saved her, she hit the floor running for Jesus and she instilled the love of Christ in her little ones. The oldest of five, Charles, began to watch her life and was filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 8 years old. Even as a young boy in the second grade, he felt the call of God on his life and began to try to sway his classmates to accept Christ in their lives. Years later, former classmates still tell stories of him carrying a bible to school and warning the classmates of hell fire destruction. He loved to preach in the mirror at a young age and asked God to become a preacher someday. This call would soon be answered at the age of 20 years old. In 1989, he moved to Sacramento, California to help his cousin start his church and later was licensed by Bishop J.R. Willis of the Foundation of Faith Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.l.C.) In 1993, he relocated to Washington D.C. area and eventually joined Faith Temple #2 Original Free Will Baptist Church {OFWB) and was ordained under the Middle Eastern OFWB Annual Conference under his pastor, Bishop L.N. Forbes. He worked as an assistant Sunday school teacher, assisted with the youth and the Brother Hood ministry and was a foreign missionary to Haiti. In 2004, he met the love of his life, Shagala Curtis and changed his membership to City of Hope International Worship Centre in Laurel, MD under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Mccargo. During that time their beloved daughter Rebekah was born. He worked in various capacities of his church, such as Sunday School teacher for the elementary age level, the Brother Hood Ministry and wherever needed. In July of 2012, Charles felt the call of God to evangelize in the community.  He began to do outreach to his neighbors and from this an in- home bible study was formed. With much urging from the members of the bible study and the pull of God on his life, Charles with the assistance of his devoted wife began to pursue God for direction in starting a church.  Under the leadership and guidance of the Lord and his

spiritual oversight, Bishop McCargo, Charles established Higher Height Praise Centre Inc. The church name was given to him l5 years prior, when the Lord spoke to him and said that he would pastor many. Today, Charles and Higher Heights Praise Centre stand as evidence of the fulfillment of God's word in his life.  In 2017 Higher Heights Praise Centre joined the Citywide Pastor’s Crusade Association, a network of churches and is now under the spiritual oversight of Bishop Allen Harris of Norfolk, VA.
